The Metro Diner - Gainesville, Florida


For crying out loud, The Metro Diner in Gainesville is a freaking awesome spot that's busy as hell! Located in a damn well-known shopping strip area, it's got a shitload of dishes for everyone, and people are bloody obsessed with their breakfast options. I mean, who the hell doesn't love fried chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, breakfast pizza, steak and eggs, and a whole lot more? 

They've also got your standard eggs, bacon, pancake plates, because, you know, sometimes you just need some good ol' comfort food. And for lunch and dinner, they're serving up meatloaf, pot roast, sandwiches, burgers, salads, and a whole bunch of other damn delicious shit. The best part? It's family-friendly, with a freaking awesome kids menu that won't break the bank. The staff is super nice, the place is brand new and squeaky clean, and they've even got outdoor seating for those lovely days. I had one of the specials, an Italian Sausage sandwich with a side dish, and it was bloody fantastic. I'd highly recommend this place, but be warned, it's a bit small, so you might have to wait like an asshole in heat, but trust me, it's worth the fucking wait. And don't even get me started on the parking, there's plenty of it, so you won't be cursing your luck trying to find a spot. Prices are pretty fair, although some things might be a bit pricey, but the food quality is damn well worth it, so shut up and pay up, because it's fucking worth it!

  Listen, I’m not exaggerating when I say this was one of the damn best buffets I’ve ever shoved my face at for legit home-cooked food. New people took over and it is not the same. Woodyard Grill - Newberry, Florida

  The Woodyard Grill, what can I say, the place has been around for a bit, does it have it's shit together? I went for lunch and was honestly impressed as hell with what they did to the building. It’s nice, inviting, and doesn’t look like a place you’d regret walking into. When you pull into the parking lot, the smell alone punches you in the face (in the best possible way) and makes you want to order one of everything like some kind of hungry fucking maniac. The open bar and outdoor patio? Absolute badass addition. Newberry needed that shit. We ended up eating inside, and the place was busy as hell , which is always a good sign. Skip's Delicatessen - Lake Butler, Florida

Skip’s Delicatessen is hands-down one of my favorite damn places to eat in Lake Butler. I finally made it there for lunch with some friends, and let me tell you, I should’ve hauled my ass there sooner. The menu is big as hell, packed with more sandwich options than you can reasonably process without short-circuiting. Every kind of lunch meat you can think of is ready to go. Turkey? Yup. Ham? Obviously. Roast beef? You bet your hungry ass. They’ve also got meatball subs and Italian sausage subs that’ll make you question every sad desk lunch you’ve ever eaten. They’ve got salads if you’re feeling responsible, cookies if you’re not, and a bunch of other good stuff to round it out. But let’s talk about the real MVP, the chips.
